Weblog Assignment #3

I visited catb.org/esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html.
This site tells about hackers. The title of the article is how to became a hacker.
Actually, the original hackers were good.
Hackers built the internet. Hackers made the Unix operating system what it is today. Hackers run usenet. Hackers make the world wide web work.
The basic difference is this : hackers build things, crackers break them.
If you want to be a hacker, you have to be reminded of 5things. "First, the world is full of fascinating problems waiting to be solved. Second, no problem should ever have to be solved twice. Third, boredom and drudgery are evil. Fourth, freedom is good. Fifth, attitude is no substitute for competence."
To follow the path, "look to the master, follow the master, walk with the master, see through the master, become the master."
So, if you want to be a hacker, this site says you should repeat the following things until you believe them.



My opinion.

Before i read this article, i thought hacker is very bad job and person but not now. Cracker is bad job.
Hackers is so nice job. Because they create the many new thing about internet and try to find use internet another way.
Becoming a hacker is too hard work. They need many things.
If someone asks me " Do you want to be a hacker? " then, i want to say just "no" because it is really a hard job.

Weblog Assignment #2

I visited www.CNN.com/US/9901/02/murder.rate/ this site tell about the US murder rate. The title of the article is overall the US murder rate down, but youth gun killings up. Young people still kill, while firearm killings and gun killings. Percentage continues to increse. Gun killings by young people 18 to 24 increased from about 5,000 in 1980 to more than 7,500 in 1977. The report also found that from 1976 to 1997, 85 percent of white murder victims were killed by whites and 94 percent of black victims were killed by blacks.




My opinion

This is a big problem because youth gun killers when they think of the gun, it is not dangerous, it is just our toy. They need more relasionship about gun and it has be clear education. So I think the gun has to be allowed for policeofficers and a dangerous job. Gun is necessary, but if use gun to much and abuse maybe the world will be crazy. It is true.
